About Me

There are the sporty girls, who can play any sport.  There are the smart girls, who always have their head in the books, and then there is me.  A girl who used to play sports, the only books she can’t get her head out of now are fashion magazines or cookbooks, and she loves to make everything visually gorgeous and decorative.

From fashion to food, you can always make it look so pretty. It’s just that little inspiration you need, plus a little love from your friends, family and especially that special someone in your life (for me its my hubby). It’s the little things that bring everyone together, specifically food. Everyone loves to eat, whether you snack all day or have three complete meals, with a little bit of dessert. My favourite element about food…it brings all the ones you love closer together.

Hi! I’m Shenifa, and I live in Vancouver, BC. I am a fashionista recently turned foodie. As much as I am shoe obsessed, I am food obsessed. I love to cook, eat out, try new things and still shop till I drop.

Not working in the retail world took away my visual and artistic ability to have fun with merchandising. I now have brought that back into my life, after getting married, I started to watch cooking shows (I had to become a bit more domesticated for my hubby).  Watching them plate food, I developed a love for cooking and making sure every dish looked visually inspiring, and of course picture-worthy.

My inspiration for starting this blog came from discovering that every day of the year represents a national food holiday.  After finding the Food.com app, ‘Everyday is a Food Holiday’, I decided to take on the challenge of cooking something that represents each food holiday for a full year.  Yup, that means 365 recipes for 365 national food days. I hope you all enjoy following me on this adventure, sharing all the hiccups and successes along the way!
